This season totally sucks. Damon Wayans was what really put fire into the show, but he left. He did make some comebacks on Men On Fitness and Handi Man, which were the classics. Keenan and Marlon were only on there for half of a season. This was truly the last season of In Livin' Color because after this, all the Wayans sibilings were gone. What really made this season suck were cutting off the original sketches that were funny : The Whitney Houston, Boys II Men, Joe and Latoya Jackson's parody to Michael's "In the Closet", The Jackson Bunch, Prince (WHY THEY DO THAT!?), and Michael Jacksons Black & White (BIG BIG MISTAKE!!!!!! - I'M MAD CUZ THAT WAS THE BEST AND FUNNIEST IN LIVING COLOR SKETCH!!!!!!). Total Ripoff! They don't edit these sketches when they play them on BET (they are on BET now) so for those that did'nt buy this DVD, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF TRASH THAT DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE COMPLETE EPISODES!!! Just tape them on BET! I'm really disgusted and I give this DVD a F-!!!!!

Mr. Show - The Complete Third Season (1995) Review

Mr. Show - The Complete Third Season (1995)

In the late 90s, the pioneering sketch comedy of Monty Python's Flying Circus was seen through to its logical conclusion via the work of David Cross and Bob Odenkirk. Offering both blistering social commentary (David's fellow castmembers criticize his lifestyle choice when he reveals that he is, in fact, bald) and extreme flights of absurdity that, remarkably, retain coherence (In one sketch, a group of "Sopranos"-style mafioso argue over what the highest number in existence is), five years after the end of its run, the world of comedy has yet to catch up to "Mr. Show".
The third season of Mr. Show improves on the first two by a considerable margin. The ideas are more focused and the execution is more precise. As such, these episodes are more consistently funny. For the uninitiated and curious, I definitely recommend the third season (rather than the first/second) an introduction to Mr. Show (not that there aren't quite a few moments of brilliance in the first two seasons, they're just spaced further apart).
Fans of Monty Python, the Kids in the Hall, the Upright Citizens Brigade, Tenacious D, and/or the State won't be disappointed by this DVD. Actually, I'm of the opinion that the "Pre-Taped Call-In Show" constitutes the most inspired bit of lunacy aired on TV since the "Ministry of Silly Walks". Fans of Curb Your Enthusiasm, "This Is Spinal Tap", Bill Hicks, and David Sedaris will probably dig Mr. Show too; not due to similarities, but rather, because Mr. Show also falls into the category of "brainy" comedy. People who enjoy Yo La Tengo, McDonald's New McGriddle (TM) and four-foot "incense burners" should also check out Mr. Show.
WARNING: If you're typically offended by "edgy" (lack of a better word) comedy (South Park, etc.), you may want to steer clear. Also, if you're more into physical comedy (Adam Sandler, Jackass, etc.), Mr. Show may not be for you. I'm not trying to be condescending or judgmental or anything, I think Jackass is hilarious, I'm just sayin' is all...
Oh, when the fourth season comes out, disregard everything I've said here and buy it. The fourth season of Mr. Show constitutes the funniest ten episodes of any television show, ever. And it's not just me talking here, either; it's in Guinness. Look it up. Swear.

The Whitest Kids U' Know: The Complete First Season (2007) Review

The Whitest Kids U' Know: The Complete First Season (2007)

Originally aired on Fuse before finding a proper home on IFC, The Whitest Kids U' Know is the best sketch comedy show you've never seen. Created by and starring Trevor Moore, Zach Cregger, Sam Brown, Darren Trumeter, and Timmy Williams; The Whitest Kids U' Know is often inspired sketch comedy with an edge, and is reminiscent of early MAD TV (minus the laugh track or audience) or more so Kids in the Hall. All ten first season episodes are collected here, and feature hysterical moments such as Trevor Moore showing his musical side with "Hitler Rap", playing a guitar while telling kids how they can get a new daddy, and more besides. Also in the mix are rampant conspiracy theories, a horny deer, different takes on Abraham Lincoln, a demon watching girls play with a Quija board, and a courtroom that falls victim to "opposite day". While there are times when skits fall flat (the face off between the monster truck drivers comes to mind), The Whitest Kids U' Know is a hysterical blast that deserves to be checked out if you've been missing out on it so far. The only disappointment about the DVD set is that more extras weren't included, but despite that, this is still definitely worth picking up for those who have enjoyed the show so far.
