This collection is a wonderful treat for any I Love Lucy fan. The episodes on this set are timeless and are definitely some of Lucy's best! You get the following episodes, plus a tape that's nearly an hour long featuring music clips from the show:
"Lucy & John Wayne" (aired 10/10/55)- After Lucy and Ethel stole John Wayne's footprints from Grauman's Chinese Theater, Ricky calls the Duke and asks him to make a replacement, but it's not that easy.
"Mr. & Mrs. TV Show" (aired 11/1/54)- When Lucy finds out that Ricky tried to decline a Mr. and Mrs. TV show just to keep her off of television, she sabotages what she thinks is a dress rehearsal of the show.
"Lucy & the Loving Cup" (aired 1/7/57)- Ricky is the host of a dinner honoring Johnny Longden and he has a loving cup to present to the jockey. To get back at Ricky for making fun of her new hat, Lucy puts the trophy on her head. The only problem is, she can't get it off.
"Lucy Tells the Truth" (aired 11/9/53)- Since Lucy lies a lot, the Mertzes and Ricky bet her that she can't go twenty-four hours without telling a lie. The result? She insults her friends and has to admit her age and the real color of her hair.
"Tennessee Bound" (aired 1/24/55)- Ricky gets arrested for speeding in Ernie Ford's hometown of Bent Fork, Tennessee. After Lucy gets sassy with the officer, he puts her, Ricky, Fred and Ethel behind bars. Guess who comes to the rescue?
"The Operetta" (aired 10/13/52)- Lucy's women's club wants to stage an operetta, but they're completely broke. So she writes postdated checks to the theatrical supply company, but when the checks bounce, they come and take back everything in the middle of the performance.
"Lucy Gets A Paris Gown" (aired 3/19/56)- Lucy pretends to be on a hunger strike until Ricky buys her a Paris gown. So he and Fred decide to get back at her by making outfits and hats for Lucy and Ethel out of burlap bags.
"Lucy Goes To the Hospital" (aired 1/19/53)- Ricky and the Mertzes rehearse their roles in taking Lucy to the hospital. When she announces that "this is it," chaos erupts. Later, Little Ricky is born.
"The Golf Game" (aired 5/17/54)- Lucy and Ethel are tired of sitting back and watching Ricky and Fred play golf all the time, so they decide to take up the game themselves. To discourage them, the guys come up with bizarre rules.
"Lucy Gets in Pictures" (aired 2/21/55)- Thanks to a director friend of Ricky's, Lucy finally lands a part in a movie. She plays a Ziegfeld-type showgirl who gets shot during her descent down a staircase. But Lucy's heavy headdress does her in long before the gun goes off.
