TV Guide DVD box sets have very strong audio output and above average picture quality. These packs do tend to be bulky however, with three discs taking up the same shelf space that another manufacturer's 100 movie collections use. (Perhaps an overly critical comment to anyone with plenty of room for a video library.)
"Racket Squad" is the only show of these three that didn't originate on radio. This early crime drama was produced by Hal Roach Jr. It was twice nominated for a "Best Mystery" Emmy. The criminals pursued by this branch of law enforcement would take advantage of a victim's confidence in them (thus: con men).
"Dragnet" was created, written, produced and directed by Jack Webb, from its late-1940s radio days through an 8 season TV run in the '50s. The show was revived in 1967 (with several co-star changes) and continued another three years.
"Gang Busters" (originally called "G-Men") first aired on CBS radio in July of 1935. Like "Dragnet," this program's scripts were based on real cases (here stories were taken from FBI and police files). Although "Gang Busters" stayed on radio for 21 seasons, its television run wasn't even a full year. This was not due to low ratings. "Dragnet" shared the same timeslot with "Gang Busters," with both appearing on alternate weeks. The latter was being aired solely to allow Jack Webb time to film his extremely popular show.
